WHAT ARE FIXED GUIDE AWNINGS?
Fixed Guide Awnings are a traditional style of awning designed for high windows which are hard to reach. These awnings are highly effective in keeping the sun and heat out of a building helping regulate the temperature and saving you money in power bills. . Fixed guide awnings have a simple design which makes them highly durable and user friendly. The awning frame is made up of a colorbond metal headbox , a metal roller tube, bottom bar, 2 guide rails and 2 'L' brackets. The awning can be manufactured with canvas, acrylic or screen type fabrics. The fixed guide awnings bottom bar is connected to guide rods by 2 circular runners which allows the bottom bar to travel freely guiding the awning fabric up and down the length of the window. Unlike its lower level relation the 'Auto Lock Awning'....the Fixed Guide Awning does not have locking arms that secure the fabric in place. Fixed guide awnings are tied down using rope which is connected to a centre pull on the awnings bottom bar. This rope is tied off onto a cleat when the awning fabric is in the desired position. Fixed Guide Awnings can be motorised which eliminates the need for a rope control. All our awnings are manufactured here in Melbourne and are custom made to fit your window perfectly.

Somfy's RTS remote controls have a omni directional range of over 20 metres, this includes thru walls & floors. Zigbee motors have an open field range of only 7mtres. If comparing the two protocols with 2 stand alone blinds the RTS would win. However Zigbees range can be greatly extended beyond that of RTS if you created a network of otherZigbee devices that communicate to each other in a mesh network.
